Three hours west of the capital, come and enjoy one of the last remaining primary forests in Ecuador's lowland Chocó region. Come and enjoy lush nature, hundreds of birds and multicoloured butterflies. This unspoilt environment is an invitation to relax and unwind.

Quinta de Goulaine is a Franco-Ecuadorian project located in the Chocó rainforest. The property covers 50 hectares of primary forest bathed by two rivers at an altitude of 460 metres.

Our main project consists of breeding butterflies native to the region (52 species) for export to several countries around the world where there are live butterfly exhibitions. This activity allows us to preserve the primary forest, employ local people and protect endemic fauna and flora.

Our second activity, which complements the first, is the cultivation of entirely organic, aromatic fine cocoa, which is compatible and in harmony with butterfly breeding. This cocoa is exceptional thanks to the different aromas of the forest and all the fruit trees that surround it.
